How I Use It
As a school librarian, I have recommended this site to social studies teachers in my building as a 5-star website. Additionally, I have shared specific lessons and materials with these teachers, encouraging them to book the library's bank of computers or to use the lessons in their own direct instruction. iCivics.org would make a powerful collaboration tool to connect the school library and social studies classroom.
I found this website to be a very impressive tool for teaching students about their government. The sheer volume of lesson plans (with high quality printables) and webquests is every Civics teacher's dream. Additionally, this tool provides a very meaningful way for students to study the structure of the US government without putting them to sleep. Highly recommend!
