How I Use It

Government is a required course for all students in order to graduate, but I was having a difficult time engaging the students at various levels. I stumbled up iCivics and was blown away by the amount of information. Even though this website is a bit elementary in its design, I had great success at the high school level. I did not use this with my honors classes, but the general and lower level students loved it. I don't think this would be the best website for ELL students, as there is a great deal of reading involved.

My Take

Definitely high school content with an "elementary" feel. The students must really read the instructions in order to play each game. I loved that the students didn't have to register if they didn't want to. That was definitely a time saver.
