How I Use It
Students have been coming to my classroom this year for extra help and for enrichment in ELA and Math. i-Ready has helped provide all this in one! I have been alternating my classes between reading and math once a week. The great thing about the program is that students are given a pre test which places them where they score. So if a child shows they are weak in multiplication they will receive lessons on multiplication. What I like about the program is the teacher's ability to add extra lessons on what they feel the students need whether it is for practice or remediation. The one negative i find is that the program relies on Flash and that prohibits it from running on iDevices (even though it's called i-Ready)
I love this program and so do the majority of my classes. If I was a classroom teacher I would be able to monitor more closely the students' progress. The reading and the math lessons are kid friendly and mostly age appropriate. The 3rd grade lesson seem to have some babyish characters in their lessons.
