How I Use It
Our school uses Google Drive as our school-wide collaborative communication, presentation, and writing system. As a teacher librarian, I use it to send individual overdue notices to students that protects their privacy. I use it as a research tool and a collaborative document sharing method. We use Google Scholar for in-depth research projects. We use Google Books to find free resources. My students share documents with me on a daily basis for editing and proofreading. It has made my life so much easier. I can't imagine school without Google.
Google creates a way for students and teachers to connect that is seamless and efficient. Adding comments to student papers is time-efficient and such a great way to build student/teacher relationships. Teachers can communicate assignments, announcements, etc. through email that kids can receive on mobile devices, which we know, is how kids communicate. It has completely changed how I teach and how I communicate with my students and with my colleagues. The best feature is having presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and anything else a teacher could need in one package that is easy to get to. Google has made a significant impact on how educators can communicate with their students and with parents.
