How I Use It
Create projects for students. First I create instructions in a "document" on google and then templates in documents for students to enter information into and presentation templates for students to enter information into. For example I create a document that is an overview of how to create a business plan and some websites to help them get some ideas. They then use my document template to create a business plan of their own, then they create a presentation pitching their business idea to other students. You could also create a spreadsheet where they have to estimate their first year expenses, or how much profit they could make. The possibilities are endless, but it does take a lot to set up all the instructions and templates, each day I would also walk through what was expected in front of them. Kids LOVED creating documents and presentations (especially making them visual and adding pictures, they would take pictures or I would take pictures of them, then send them an e-mail with the image and they would add their own pictures to their presentations). Any project you can imagine can be created with the right set-up and scaffolding.
My Take
This tool is all about molding, it depends on the teacher and how they implement. It does take a lot of input and creation by the teacher, it is not a one stop shop or a quick fix. But if you put the time in, you can create some really cool things, especially around project based learning.
