How I Use It
Google Drive is the storehouse my students use to compose their essays, journals, presentations, and digital portfolio sites. I love being able to see their work in progress, add comments and suggestions, and even leave voice memos for them! Even better -- students can collaborate with each other, and I can see the revision history of who did what, when. I use Google Drive EVERY day.
User-friendly and available everywhere you go, Google Drive is the must-have app and site for teachers and students. It allows you to share documents with your class, view the progress of a project or writing assignment, collect formative assessments, gather data, and communicate out to your students, all in one (very robust) package. For advanced teacher users, check out Scripts for Drive to make your life so much better: Doctopus (for distributing and collecting documents), Flubaroo (for grading forms), and Gubric (for attaching a rubric to your documents). Also, consider using Voice Comments (an app that adds-on to your Drive) to add voice memos to your students' work.
