How I Use It
I have not used this tool in my classroom, but plan to in the future. As a sixth grade teacher that explores ancient civilizations with her students every year, this website would give students the ability to explore artifacts from those civilizations that we study. What a great way to bring content to life! The drawback that I have found, however, is that this website is not intuitive. When I explore educational websites and apps, I attempt to view them through the lens of my students. I can see this being a little overwhelming and possibly frustrating for some students (please note that the grade level for this site is 7-12). I had some difficulty searching for art by content (i.e. searching for pieces by Picaso) and by artist. I did watch the tutorials for educators, but still had challenges. Also, the website consistently had problems loading and could not perform searches properly. If the site were to work properly, I could see endless learning possibilities.
My Take
Google has created an amazing tool for students, teachers, and art enthusiasts.
