How I Use It
Review Han Rosling's many outstanding videos on YouTube or TedTalks. I show the students a graph and then ask students some probing questions "which country has a larger population? Germany or Vietnam?", "which country has a lower income? Canada or Brazil", "Which country has a lower life expectancy? Burma or Peru?" (or any other country pair) Then I ask the students to check if this has always been the case? And from the information, do they think it might swap in the future?
My Take
Incredibly fast and reliable site for large data sets which will interest students with an interest in travel, politics or global citizenship. Student can get lost in the plethora of information, but I suggest letting them get a little lost so they understand the complexities of the world we live in.
