How I Use It
We are entering year three using eportfolios instead of report cards, and freshgrade has been our tool of choice. It is user-friendly with some of our 'non-tech' teachers leading the way. It also has allowed our parents to see there children learning in ways that is different from the way they remember school to be (more hands-on, less one-size-fits-all worksheets). It has supported us in showing personal learning journals with a mix of authentic student work examples, videos, pictures and more, all enhanced by descriptive feedback that helps us highlight student strengths, and areas for them to focus on to make improvements.
My Take
Freshgrade has blended an easy-to-use platform with a responsive team support network to ensure that we are effectively able to communicate student learning in a variety of ways. It has helped us show student learning in ways that are unique to that learner and that the journey is much more than a total of grades and %s.
