How I Use It
I usually use the Flocabulary videos as a jumping off point or as an intro to understanding a topic when I start a class. They have vocabulary words at levels from kindergarten to high school SAT words. The nature of the music makes it easier for my students to learn and retain the definitions of words. All the videos are linked to CCLS, and the lyrics are printable along with fill in the blanks, exercises, quizzes, and lesson resources to extend instruction.
My Take
Flocabulary is by far the most memorable way I have found for students to to retain the meanings of vocabulary words. The kids are so busy singing the songs, they hardly realize that they're learning. With lesson plans, graphic organizers, and extension activities all available right there, you don't have to do much on your own to create an engaging environment for vocabulary instruction.
