How I Use It
This site would be good for students to acquire information that they could then turn into a presentation, project or essay. The collections include materials from a variety of topics. Most of the collections focus on the Holocaust and other genocides, but it does make a concerted effort to explain the roots of religion, culture and race. Other topics on the site include tolerance and anti-bullying initiatives.
I found that it was a little confusing at first to find the materials. The top page is lacking in direction. It was through random clicking that I was able to find the link for the collections. Once in the collections I found a ton of information including lesson plans, study guides and Audio/Video Collections. Go under Educator Resources and then collections. Because of this organization I think it would be a little difficult for students to find what they were looking at. I would probably provide students with a direct hyperlink to the collection I wanted them to use.
This website will be particularly helpful for those who are teaching about human rights violations, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the history of racism.
