These high school-level math gizmos are content-heavy, as well as an engaging way for kids to visualize difficult math concepts. Like Gizmos' other modules, they're organized by content area, including Number & Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, and Data Analysis & Probability. Some gizmos can be used in one of three different formats: Lab, Lecture, or Worksheet. Lab format is best for small group work, Lecture format is ideal for whole-class instruction (this is important if only one computer is available), and Worksheet format is great for independent student work. Most other gizmos could work well as think-pair-share activities. Kids can work individually to complete the Prior Knowledge questions on the Student Exploration Sheets, explore the gizmo, then take the assessment.
