How I Use It
I used this as a small group project with a Smartboard. Students took turns in leading the interactive game. Students had to raise hands to answer questions while one student would read or dig! I have a mixed grade, mixed academic level classroom of special education students grades 7-12, and they LOVED Excavate Rome, and Excavate Egypt, and the Mayan games.
My Take
Students have the opportunity to physically DO something - they learn through doing, seeing, reading, writing, and most importantly, thinking through making connections. The game can lead to students being interested in further study, and the teacher can lead further exploration into the subject.
