How I Use It
This is not a tool to be used for direct classroom instruction. This tool is an excellent resource for educators to further their professional knowledge at their own pace. Registration is required for educators to access the live and recorded webinars provided by edWeb, however registration is free and relatively quick. Educators have the option to join professional learning communities specific to their grade level, subject of expertise, or other special preferences. Educators can also create their own PLC if they do not find one that suits their specific needs.
Overall I believe this is an excellent educator resource. While edWeb does not provide specific lesson plans like the Common Sense Educators network, edWeb does provide a multitude of professional development learning opportunities. Educators can sign up to attend live webinars that are scheduled in EST. Educators can also learn at their own speed by watching pre-recorded webinars in the edWeb archive. Educators that view recorded webinars must pass a CE quiz before earning the corresponding CE certificate. Webinar topics range anywhere from Blended Learning to Family and Community Engagement and everything in between. edWeb also provides resources to determine if their CE certificates can be recognized in your home state.
