How I Use It
I've used Edpuzzle in my flipped classroom for a year and a half now. Through Edpuzzle, I've given my students a constant source of review for key content; in addition to adding audio/visual videos to assigned complex text that they may have difficulty with. With Edpuzzle, I am able to upload my created videos and add checking for understanding questions, comments, as well as audio tracks/notes. Edpuzzle also allows you to crop portions of the video that you do not want. My students absolutely love Edpuzzle, because it allows them to learn at their own pace. Students watch the videos will completing fill-in notes created by me. I embed questions into the video which allows for them to immediately interact with the content shared in addition to providing me with immediate feedback as to content mastery. In addition to being able to upload my own content, Edpuzzle also has an extremely large database of videos that I used to provide additional support for my students.
Edpuzzle is an amazing teaching tool! It transformed my classroom by allowing students to learn at their own pace and providing them a resource that they can visit and revisit again and again. Students are actively engaged through Edpuzzle because of the ability to embed questions, audio tracks, and audio notes. Being able to get immediate feedback from the data provided by Edpuzzle is powerful! Edpuzzle also has a "No Skipping" feature which stops students from skipping forward - this was a key feature for me. With the help of Edpuzzle I was able to maximize my instructional class time and thus provide students with other engaging activities that allowed for them to grow as learners. The support provided by the Edpuzzle team is amazing. If there is any problem with the site, they immediately respond back to you. The fact that you can upload your own videos and find other quality videos created by others is a no brainer! With it being a free resource - Edpuzzle is the only way to go.
