How I Use It
Edmodo is a great online tool that allows teachers to bring their classroom anywhere. I use Edmodo in a variety of ways. I create different groups for each class that I teach so that I can post specific assignments in each group. I post classroom assignments, homework, links to online resources, and videos for my students. Students are able to reply to posts I post and to posts by other students. It is a great collaboration tool. I also create small groups within my large groups to help differentiate instruction. Parents also have a code to see what their child is doing in the classroom. Edmodo allows teachers to individualize instruction and allows students to work at their own pace on their laptop or iPad.
Overall, Edmodo is a great learning tool for students. Students are able to get 21st century skills by using technology and online resources all in one place posted by their teacher. Edmodo makes it easy for students to go to a specific place on the internet. It makes internet use safer and more controlled because the teacher posts all appropriate websites to Edmodo. I really like that all student assignments are turned in to one place, which makes it easy to grade. Edmodo is a great tool for online learning.
