How I Use It
I used Edmodo to post readings in lieu of printing and passing out hard copies. I also posted questions where students respond not only to the prompt, but as a discussion board. I am also able to take polls in order to check for understanding. When I want individual work with out discussion, I post assignments.
My Take
I like Edmodo as a teaching tool quite a bit. It is as useful as what the teacher does with it. It can be boring, or it can be fun and interactive. Like anything, if overused, students will get tired of it. I like it because I can see student threaded discussions which can be used in class or out. It takes a while for students to get used to it, but once they know the nuts and bolts, it's super simple. I really like that individuals can go on or I can form teams of students.
