How I Use It
I create folders in Edmodo to share with all students in the same course. For example, I name folders by specific current event and then add links to credible news sources, maps, background information, etc. for students to use as resources for current event classroom activities.
I have designed online study cohorts and assigned students to study small groups - groups communicate with each other in their small groups without having to share personal email addresses.
I give all my unit exams in multiple-choice format in Edmodo. I can message students who were absent and allow them to take make up exams on Edmodo at home.
Edmodo provides a reliable, user-friendly course management platform that entire districts can use for free. As a teaching tool, you can use it for quick sponge activities to start class, a place to post homework assignments, an online testing center (it automatically grades quizzes), a small group manager and an organized way to store digital handouts and online resources for students by unit.
