How I Use It
I have used this in multiple ways. I first began to use this with my honors class. My students read a novel outside of class, and they participated in online class discussions on Edmodo. I've also used Edmodo with group projects. I put my students in small groups on Edmodo. They were able to conduct research and post notes to one another in their small groups. This made it so much easier for my students to keep track of their websites and resources. My favorite way I used Edmodo was during multiple snow days. I was able to post assignments and readings so my class was not behind when we finally returned to school.
My Take
Once I played around with Edmodo, I really began to love it. It does take a bit of time to get used to the format and to really figure out all that can be done with it, but it is very user friendly and great for the students. I love that it allows students access to class materials from anywhere there is Internet access. It is also easy for students to collaborate with one another. It has a similar look and feel to Facebook, so my students were quickly able to get the hang of the site.
