I use it to have students evaluate and critique each others artwork both within a class and with others students in other classes in other states.
My Take
Edmodo is a student centered social media website that looks and acts a lot like Facebook. Unlike Facebook however, teachers have complete control over setup and what students publish into their groups. Students must have a group code that the teacher has given them to join. After putting in the code students are automatically put into the group that teachers create. The real power however lies in the fact that teachers can add other teachers as coteachers and those teachers can add their students to the same group. Therefore you can have group collaboration between classrooms in the same school or even between different schools in different states or even different countries.
