How I Use It
I use Edmodo to flip my classroom. The Edmodo app is sketchy at best, so be sure to have students access Edmodo through a browser if they are using a mobile device.
I post videos, additional resources such as the virtual library of learning manipulatives, and ask my students to take online quizzes through Edmodo. I also seamlessly was able to integrate Google Drive for my students to submit work as well.
Edmodo is a great tool to collaborate and communicate with students and parents. Post homework assignments, additional learning opportunities including websites and videos, and simply allow students to ask their peers for homework help. It takes a few minutes to set up your classes and get students plugged in, but once you do, it's relatively pain-free.
Students like it because of its look and feel that is similar to facebook, however Edmodo is used for educational purposes - to keep your class connected. You can also post assignments to be completed online, as well as administer quizzes.
