How I Use It
I use it for a variety of tasks, but the most useful is to have students search out videos and articles in the Spanish 5 AP class. They post them to the edmodo group and then view the videos/articles posted by their peers. This source material is later used in class for listening/reading comprehension activities.
My Take
Edmodo takes a format that is familiar to students and lets them see that it also has practical applications. There are a few extra hoops to jump through to keep it a secure and safe space for the students. It's these same hoops that caused problems for some of my students who didn't log in regularly.
