How I Use It
The most effective way I've been able to use this is by taking a lab day for my students to register. Once they have done so, I passed around a paper that they could write their usernames on. I then created a username specifically for that class and added all of my students as friends. This allowed me to monitor their XP (which is gained by doing lessons) on a weekly basis, which I entered as part of their participation.
My Take
My self-driven students love it, and it serves as a great form of review--particularly for vocabulary. As a standalone program, it's not enough to teach a person French, but it's great as a supplemental resource. It's not specific enough to provide practice for grammar exercises (students often have get through a certain amount of lessons to be able to practice certain subjects), but for what it does do, it does it well. As of right now, there's no setting that makes it particularly easy to use in a classroom setting, so teachers need to come up with their own way of using it. Perhaps the biggest plus of all is that students like it!
