How I Use It
I use it in a small group special education math setting for individualized instruction and independent work. It is great for my kids with dyslexia and dyscalculia - it reads aloud to them. These kids are making tremendous progress. It is not a good fit for my kids with language impairments and disabilities - they can't access the terminology used and need it to be simpler. Sometimes these students get "stuck" and aren't sure what to do with an activity because they didn't understand the written and oral directions. These students are making minimal progress.
My Take
It's powerful for customizing instruction to where the child has gaps or has strengths (and can work ahead of the group). The kids really like it. I like that they can "earn points" but the "My Stuff" section is actually very small and limited to what they can buy on (songs, background image, a border around their avatar). I also like that the kids can earn a short 20-30 second "game" which helps break up the lessons.
