What...for real?? The bigger the number, the skinnier the graph?

How I Use It
I was introduced to DESMOS by a student who first found the APP for her phone. Once I discovered for myself online - the world of graphing opened up to my students. I have used DESMOS in all graphing representations outlined in the Common core - specifically linear equations, systems, quadratic, higher-degree polynomials, mixed degree polynomials, exponential functions, etc. With each graphing lesson we look at the beginning equation, compare to the parent function (if applicable) an use the slider tool to see how the graph changes with respect to the variables.
My Take
I am enthusiastic about this online teaching tool. This replaces the hand-drawn overhead worksheets, and more importantly the hand-drawn white-board. This graphing tool allows for real-time, on the spot, visual representation of the fundamental aspects of a graph and how they are affected by change in parameters. This tool brings functions to life visually and SAVES TIME!
