How I Use It
I use this in my high school math classroom on computers, tablets, and the devices the students bring. They use the tool to analyze graphs and learn how different components of equations change the graph. I find this to be much more useful to my students than the graphing calculator because they can see the equation and the graph at the same time. This helps them to make the connections better. I have found that my students gain a better understanding of equations and graphs and can then apply the concepts in situations.
Desmos is an awesome teaching tool for the math classroom. I love that the equations and graphs are color-coded so the students can keep the graphs organized. I also love that students can see the coordinates of the points on the graph and it will also give them a table of values. This tools helps my students to understand the relationship between equations and their graphs. The only thing I wish it could do was allow the user to manipulate the graph and see how the equation changes.
