How I Use It
In class graphing - As a teacher it's easy to graph something in desmos in front of the students. You can get to the site easily and show they how a graph looks.
The sliders are great for showing how values in equations affect the shape of the graphs. I use this site specifically to show how a, h, and k, affect the shape of a parabola in the vertex form. y = a(x-h)^2 +k.
I also use this site for a take home project. Students are to create art by drawing functions. Desmos has made it easy to limit the domain of a graph so that only part of the function is showing. Students do this to create their own picture, or to re-create a picture they've selected.
Great site. Very easy to use. Students get the hang of it instantly. I like how you can save your graphs to your google drive.
