How I Use It
We participated in the Hour of Code in December with an hour of time devoted each day for a week. After that we used the website about once a week to further coding instruction. It was easy for students to work at their own pace and to help each other solve problems. Students enjoyed the different popular character activities, such as Angry Birds and Frozen. In addition to the specific Hour of Code activities students moved on to the 20+ different challenges that increased in difficulty and skill level. There was plenty there to keep students engaged through the end of the year.
Having a "hour of code" movement, and buy-in/support from so many well-know figures in the public eye pushed excitement for this website. There were activities to engage students who were hesitant about coding as well as those who have spent time coding already. I would like it if the home landing page was easier to navigate between the Hour of Code activities and the leveled challenged activities.
