How I Use It
I teach new groups of students each quarter and use Code.org as part of their technology education. We use the Course 2 and the students work through at their own pace. I'll do a brief intro for each lesson to explain a major concept (e.g. loops or functions) but I encourage the students to help each other figure out the solutions to tricky problems. They love the challenge and the popular graphics make this a favorite unit every time.
My Take
I think this is a great introduction for students, most of who have never thought about coding before. It makes it accessible and the accompanying videos help them realize how they could pursue careers in the field. That being said, it is an introduction to coding. For deeper learning students will need to move to other programs, such as codecademy.com.
