How Can Teachers Use It?

Because JavaScript is ubiquitous on the Web, learning it can play an important role in developing any budding Web developer's toolbox. Like all Codecademy offerings, these lessons build small skills into bigger ones in a way that makes learners feel successful at every turn. The limits here are more related to the nature of the language itself, as JavaScript often works in conjunction with other Web technologies that these lessons don’t cover. This means that finding a good place for kids to practice their newfound skills might require more Codecademy tutorials.

As such, assign kids these JavaScript lessons as a precursor to other in-class lessons and activities. Whether they're taking apart popular Web pages to see how they work or programing interactive pages as part of a class project, the learning here will support students' other programming efforts. At the very least, exposing your students to these effective and entertaining lessons will help them develop an appetite to better understand the Web in general.
