How I Use It
I have used ClassDojo for my behavior management piece for a couple of years. I personally use it for the positive points and allow students to trade in their points for rewards because I like to honor the positive behaviors, rather than take away for the negative behaviors. It works when the students really want to earn those points and then they follow whatever directions you have asked of them or for keeping them on task quietly, etc. You can also adjust what you want students to earn points for and communicate with parents effectively.
My opinion is that I truly enjoy this product as a teaching tool. It is not necessarily a resource to support academics, however it does help to keep students engaged and on task. It also encourages them to participate and behave appropriately and therefore does help with their academics. I think it already serves myself and my students pretty well.
