How I Use It
Students get to keep track of how many points they have and I provide opportunities for them to change their avatar. I use ClassDojo as a reward system and to determine their grades as well. The more points they earn, the higher their conduct grade. Parents can also quickly see how their child is doing in class just by logging on at home. They know why their child lost points or why their child earned points before their child even gets home from school that day.
This is a great tool for the classroom for teachers, students, and parents. One downfall I have with this is that some parents do not have internet access at home and cannot check their child's ClassDojo regularly. The other thing is that if I have more than one class set up in ClassDojo and two students have the same name, if I make edits to a child's name, it changes all of those student's names. For example, I have two Elijah's. One likes to be called Eli so when I changed his name in one class, my Elijah in my other class changed to Eli as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this tool to improve behavior management.
