How I Use It

I give my students a list of "tools" at the beginning of the year. The Son of Citation Machine is one of those tools. It can help them with feedback on their essay and also help them create a proper reference page. In class I cover scenarios where the site may not give a 100 percent correct reference and how to correct it.

My Take

Online referencing tools allow students to create a proper reference page. Son of Citation Machine helps students write a reference page for MLA, APA, Chicago, and Turabian styles. It also has an EssayCheck page to give feedback on Organization, Conventions, Sentence Structure, Development of Ideas, Word Choice, Style, and Grammar and spelling. The site isn't perfect, but it has tools students can use to make their writing better.
