How I Use It
Students in my classroom used this website to research their individual endangered animal and had great success finding information at their level. The website provides content about a plethora of topics at various levels (with level 1 being the easiest, level 2 being more difficult, and level 3 being the most difficult) providing great differentiation. Content such as articles, videos, images, definitions, websites, journals, and learning games are all differentiated.
I love to use this tool to help students gain knowledge on an unknown topic. It is a safe place for students to search a topic without being given the "kitchen sink" that is Google search. It is easy to navigate. I think the best feature is the "Web's Best Sites" that provides other safe websites with information about the topic. It also provides many resources for teachers such as interactive lessons and multimedia about a given topic. The downfall is that all three levels of information are not always available for your topic. Sometimes you can only access level 3 information or there will be no given information at all on a topic, but it will search similar topics which can be confusing for children.
