How I Use It
I used this to teach my students more about history. I played the game https://www.brainpop.com/games/missionusacheyenneodyssey/ and it was very informative, interactive, and intriguing for an adult, so I imagined it would benefit an elementary student. With BrainPOP, there are so many games that enhance knowledge while playing games. As a combo teacher, some subjects are more dedicated than others and so while the students are working on history and science while I am teaching math and english, they can interact not only with their textbooks, but also take that knowledge and apply it to a game.
My Take
This project is a great learning tool. For the Cheyenne game, it didn't feel like a history lesson, although the lesson was to teach about their life during that time. It wasn't boring and it wasn't a drag to learn history. I did like that you were able to deepen your vocabulary while learning about life during this time. This could serve students better because it can help students take a glimpse into history while having fun with it.
