How I Use It
I have used this with students in Grade 6, through to Grade 10. I either use it to introduce a topic, by playing the video to everyone, then having a class discussion OR I set the video for homework and have students send me a screenshot of their quiz results. Although it is aimed at younger students, my older students get a kick out of it too, but just to introduce topics. I also use the Spotlight area often - where BrainPop pool together videos on a particular topic - for example the information literacy selection includes videos on research and on copyright.
My Take
I think this is a great way to introduce a topic. Students become familiar with the characters and the style of the video. These are great for facilitating class discussion and even better for flipping the classroom! Don't forget, there is also a Spanish Language version!
