How I Use It
I use BrainPop for science with grades 6-8. When I give my students a task, I also provide them with a list of links that they can use to find further information and to relevant games. BrainPop is normally good source of both but only if you have a subscription, the free content is very limited.
The videos are short, easy to understand and can be played with subtitles which makes them ideal for ELL students.
Each video is surrounded by links to related content which makes it easy for students to navigate to around a topic. The videos are suitable for flipped learning to ensure that students at least understand the basics. They are not detailed enough to extend learning.
