How I Use It
BrainPOP uses animated curriculum-based videos that keeps students engaged as well as supporting Common Core Standards that assist teachers in getting across some very difficult topics. It uses simple short animated movies covering the subjects of science, social studies, English, mathematics, engineering and technology, health, and arts and music. Along with each subject and video, there are quizzes and other material available to enhance learning.
I like to use BrainPop as an introduction to a lesson to familiarize the students with some of the pronunciation of the vocabulary that will be introduced in the lesson. This is especially valuable in Science and Social Studies.
I really enjoy the simplicity of BrainPop. It covers a wide array of subject matter in short and easy to understand videos. The videos are designed to keep the students attention while giving them valuable information. I like to use BrainPop either as an introduction to a lesson or topic or as a quick review of the material. The students really enjoy the bright colorful graphics of the animated shorts.
