How I Use It
As a music teacher, I used BrainPop videos as part of my unit on teaching the families of musical instruments. I projected the video on an interactive whiteboard, and then we discussed the videos and did the quizzes in whole group settings on the interactive whiteboard.
My Take
The videos were entertaining and the students enjoyed them. These videos did not group the instrument families the same way as our textbook, so that led us into discussing that there is more than one way to categorize instruments based on how they are played or how they make sound. My main complaint with the videos is that all of the instrument sounds used were synthesized, and most were not good.
