How I Use It
I use BrainPop at the beginnings of lessons when I need just a short introduction that contains key concepts and vocabulary. For example, before reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, we watched short, animated videos on Hitler, WWII, and the holocaust. Instead of standing in front of the class lecturing or having them read information on these subjects, we were able to cover the information in just a few minutes in a format that held their attention.
This is one website for which I don't mind paying. I use it at least on a weekly basis and can usually find information on the topic I will be presenting. It gives information in an interesting format that students enjoy and doesn't take more than ten minutes of class time.
