How I Use It
Sometimes I use Brainpop videos as part of my group lesson. We may watch a video and then do the quiz together on the SmartBoard. Students like to take turns taking on a question. I also include the videos in my students matrices. They are available whenever a students is ready for them and it helps me to really individualize learning for my students. It also supports anytime, anywhere learning. I have used BrainPop with middle schoolers and BrainPop Jr. with elementary schoolers. My K students could even navigate the videos and games themselves.
I love using BrainPop as a tool within my standards-based classroom. I include BrainPop videos in my matrices, tools that my students use to move through learning at the own pace. I like that BrainPop is easy for students to navigate themselves and that it includes such a wide variety of subjects and topics. It allows my students access to mini-lesson videos at any time and provides them with a practice quiz to make sure they understand what was presented. They are engaging and also include activities to print and use as support.
