How I Use It
Normally I use it in two ways, some times as extension to some content, or to review some materials we cover in class. The animations are pretty good, and not so simple than people think. Some are just the opposite, too complex for Middle School students! It's true that most of the time is just a simplified version/review of the topic/concept, but students enjoy the adventures of Tom and Moby, and there is always a bit of fun in there. Once the animation is done, you can run the quiz with the class or ask them to do it individually plus some of the other activities. To check if students are on task, it offers the option to submit the activities/ quiz results when complete it (you receive a notification). Another good thing about the quiz is that is linked to your google drive, therefore you can get the results from all the students to check if they understood what the animations showed, and try again later to compare results. It's just another tool, sometimes the standards of the animations vary, from very simple to too complex, but still worthy. The only problem is that for accessing all the videos, you need to pay (don't know how much as the library in our school handles all that).
My Take
For extension content or review of some concepts is a great tool. Animations are simple but nice, and students love the two characters, Tom and Moby. Interesting to spend 15-20min in a lesson watching the animation, doing the quiz and some of the activities linked to the topic. It's very easy to use, as once you login you just need to search for the topic you are looking for and everything is just at one click. Students can extend some knowledge of some concepts by themselves, it means it can be used independently and as homework tool.
