How I Use It
I use Brainpopjr's videos as a way to introduce each skill that I am teaching in the classroom. I usually use this as a way to hook the students into the lesson. What I feel like works best, is as the video is playing, I always pause the video to reexplain each skill or concept. I feel like it is best, to try to put my own import into the video as well. Or sometimes if I am teaching a new skill or concept. I may just put the video on and make the student take notes about what they are learning from the video. After the video is over, I have the student share with the class what they have learned. This way it opens up a discussion for the topic.
My Take
My students are always excite when they know I am showing them a Brainpop video. They are always quiet and engaged. I believe that these videos are short, sweet and to the point. It makes it very clear what each skill or concept is. The videos are very straight forward which are very helpful.
