How I Use It
I used the Book Creator app with my pupils during lockdown in March 2020. After reading a chapter of our noel study the pupils were required to summarise the chapter using Book Creator. They planned out their chapter and then used the media tools to create their version of Chapter Six of Poppet By Dick King-Smith. The children displayed great confidence in using the app and created books which used images, text, stickers and the page design tools. This was a great alternative to providing a written summary of a chapter.
This is a fabulous teaching tool. I love that the tools are easy to use and provide ways for pupils and teachers to create eye-catching interactive books which are colourful, interesting and grab the reader. The accessibility tools within the app ensure that pupils with writing difficulties can use the record or camera tool to vocalise their ideas and include these easily within their book. I also love that tools like the page background, shapes, colours, multimedia and text mean that pupils can create a book that is individual to them. I don't have very many gripes about using this tool - my only one is that sometimes drive doesn't work well with it which create problems adding content from here - this could be a personal issue so it isn't a big one.
