How I Use It
I use it to host a professional blog and I also use it to host a group of 3rd grade students who blog about the reading enrichment group that they are in. I give the students a prompt which they need to write a blog post about. The most recent prompt was to write about how they feel using readers theater will help them improve their reading skills. I also send out the blog link to parents and their homeroom teacher and encourage them to read the blog and comment on the blog. All comments have to be approved by me before they are shown on the website. Last year my students had a skype visit with an author and they wrote blog posts about the visit and I gave the author our blog address and the author commented on all of the blog posts. My kids LOVED that.
My Take
I have used Blogger for years for both blogs for myself and for students blogs. I like that you can be the administer of many blogs and it is fairly easy to keep track of them all using the dashboard. I have run into some problems with the students using it when our school had an old browser, but those problems seem to have been resolved when we upgraded browsers.
