How I Use It
I use it to assist with accommodations such as reading tests and text. I can record it and save it to a flash drive or my website as needed. I've also used it to edit music as needed for video clips.
My students have used it create podcasts. They recorded their essays and then could experiment with the editing options, even adding music as the intro/credits (Think NPR stories...that was our goal.) Recording could then be exported as a variety of files, though we used WAV and MP3s.
Audacity is an easy download, can even be stored on a flash drive. Simple for students to understand while also offering them advanced editing features to explore. A few times we had to update Audacity in order for it to work correctly, but we have few problems. (Most problems came from needing good mics/headphones, but that's not Audacity's fault.)
