How I Use It
My 4th grader used this at to supplement math at school. If she got an answer wrong, she had an option to watch a video to explain how to solve the proble. However, the website is not engaging. She did not want to use it after a few uses. We also ran into technical problems, which prevented us from accessing the program. The explanation videos sometimes featured an instructor with a high pitched, squeaking voice, which as really hard on my daughter’s ears.
My kid likes math but hates Adapted Mind. I think many kids would avoid using it if at all possible. It’s just not fun or engaging.
We had to cancel our subscription because my daughter refused to use it. However, the company does not send a cancellation confirmation. Adapted Mind continued to bill me for many months after I cancelled. My credit card company was able to secure a credit for two months, but Adapted Mind refused to acknowledge their mistake. Many other parents have had similar experiences. Just do a web search. I had learned about this company from Common Sense Media, and really regret subscribing. They have unethical billing practices. Tip: if you subscribe and later cancel, take a screenshot of the cancellation request and keep notes on when you cancelled. They will claim you did not cancel, and say they provide a refund only if you send a screenshot.
