Book Clubs for Today's Culture of Learning: Fostering a Love of Independent Reading Through Student Choice

Tuesday, March 30, 2021 - 12:00-1:00 pm PDT

Book clubs are a social way for adults and students to connect to the literature they read. Using engaging techniques, both digital and analog, teachers can use the format of book clubs to foster a love of reading in students.

This edWebinar will illustrate a different way of implementing book clubs in the classroom, providing opportunities for students to interact with new reading strategies and produce engaging, relevant projects that offer opportunities to spark conversations around modern-day digital dilemmas. Teachers will leave this presentation with an implementation plan, sample activities, and opportunities to customize the way they launch book clubs in their classrooms.

This edWebinar will be of interest to teachers and librarians of all grade levels.
