When Is Your Brain Ready for Social Media?

Legally speaking, kids have to be at least 13 to sign up for most social media platforms. But we know that many kids and tweens ignore this restriction and sign up at younger ages. In doing so they can connect with peers and have fun, but they're also vulnerable to a number of risks -- including to their social-emotional health. Help your students consider social media's effects on all of us regardless of our age, and get them to think critically about the best age for kids to start using social media.
