About Me

I started teaching science in elementary school, grades K-6 way back in 1993. I pursued a Master's degree in Learning Technology and received my state certification as an Educational Technology Specialist, grades K-12. Since 2006 I have been teaching middle school computers and technology. Additionally, I have been a FIRST LEGO League Robotics and Future City team coach for the last nine years. Most recently I have coached a number of middle school teams in CSAW High School Forensics. STEM education is the focus of what I bring to my students, as well as the majority of my professional development.

I've been deeply involved with the AMPS/GK-12 CBSI grant in conjunction with NYU-Polytechnic University from Fall 2007 up through Spring 2015. In dealing with NYU-Poly, I have also taken part in three research experiences for teachers over the summers of 2010, 2011, and 2015, creating a robotic fish tail for the Dynamical Systems Lab, a mechatronic permeameter for the Soil Mechanics Lab, and curriculum to bring Cyber Security and Forensics to middle school students.
